We left Thursday morning from Bimini at 8 am. We arrived at Highborne Key at 10 am. Of the 26 hours out, we were able to sail for about 20 hours. It was beautiful going over the Bahamas banks. Sometimes water depth was only 8ft deep and so crystal clear you could see the bottom. It was an amazing experience. We reached what they call the tongue of the ocean last night at 8pm so it was dark we went from shallow water to off soundings. We saw a few other big boats in the ocean before taking a left to cross another set of banks to get to Highborne Key.

We have internet here and will be here for tonight and maybe tomorrow night then on to the next island. Fortunately for awhile we have a chain of islands so our trips will be any where from 5 miles to 15 or 20 miles a day until we have to make the crossing to Georgetown.

We left Bimini with 2 other boats. It was nice having the company. We were well matched and all arrived within in 30 minutes of each other. It is always nice to have company so you have someone to check in with in the middle of the night when you see another ship bearing down on you.

We are tired but happy to be here. Water temp is 77. We’ll find a beach soon!

While this island is beautiful it is private and they want a $50 landing fee to visit thus we are heading for Shroud Key for a few days and then on to Wardrick Wells both of witch are in the Exuma Land and Sea Park.

Next update when we have communication available. Photos to follow when we have a better connection
