Diana and I both attended the Space Coast Birding Festival this past weekend. We did not see any new birds but did learn some things. Now that we have been birding in Florida for several years we have seen all the usual suspects so seeing a new bird is less likely but we continue to enjoy see the ones we know. Every once in awhile an immature bird we know as an adult will fly by and that will keep us guessing until we figure out it out as a juvenile
We are now closely looking at all our weather resources to find a suitable weather window to sail further south in anticipation to jumping over to the Bahamas. The plan is to head out Canaveral Inlet some 24 miles south of us and then going off shore for an overnight-er to Lake Worth Inlet near West Palm Beach. From there we would look for weather to get to the Miami area. The other option is leave here and continue straight on to Miami if the weather will allow this.
